Department
The polytechnic running under the Department of Technical Education H.P. imparts training in different diploma courses of three years duration. As the institute is presently stationed in a temporary rented building, the polytechnic imparts training in two branches only: Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Three more courses shall be started as soon as the institute’s own building is ready.
1. Department of Applied Sciences:
The department of Applied Sciences aims to provide a strong foundation for the students in the basic sciences. Students of different diploma courses are provided with the knowledge of the basic principles on which engineering is based. It encourages the students to apply the physical laws to the development of their fields of study. The Department has well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and communication skills.

2. DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING:
In this course students learn about the generation, transmission ,distribution and utilization of electrical energy. The student make aware about various conventional and non-conventional energy transformation methods, the transmission of electrical energy to distant load centers with suitable protective schemes and the distribution of electrical energy to end consumer. The student also made aware about estimation & costing in electrical engineering and the subjects having current industrial demand like PLC , Power electronics, hybrid electric vehicles etc. The labs at this institute are state of art well equipped with modern facilities. This lab provide the practical hands on training on transformers, DC motors, DC Generators, Induction Motors, Synchronous motors, 1-phase induction motor, etc

In this lab the students trained about the various protection devices, relays etc. This lab also combined with solar lab .
3. Department of Civil Engg.:
The Department focuses on education in the broad areas of Geotechnical, Structural, Transportation, and Water Resources & Environmental Engineering. It has an annual intake of 40 students.
